CC Rio Update

9 03 2009

Hi dear friends,

How are you doing?

I just got back from Sunday service very happy and encouraged with our God, we were blessed by the visit of Pastor Morris from Kenya, he is a great servant of God who spoke at our church through the power of the Holy Spirit, I encourage you to listen to his message that will soon be on our web site www.calvarychapelrio.com

Lídia is doing great praise God, she is now 8 months old and is a great blessing for Lilian and I and also to the church. Everyone wants to hold her and she is now going everywhere in the house. Sometimes she gets stuck under the chair and starts crying for help because she is not able yet to move backwards.

I would like to encourage you when you have a chance to keep praying for the possibility of our church moving to a new location, we have one in sight, and we are praying for the Lords direction.

2009 CCK Missions Trips

26 02 2009

Calvary Chapel Kendall is excited to have the opportunity to serve our missionaries by sending them teams. In the past, we’ve sent teams to Mississippi, Peru, Costa Rica, Asia, and the Middle East. Our goal is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ in everything we do, we hope to portray God’s love through our actions and our words. This year we have been invited to serve in El Salvador and Brazil. It’s an honor to be ambassadors for Christ in other parts of the world, a responsibility we take very seriously.

Please be aware that these trips are not tours nor vacations.

El Salvador July 4-11

In July we have the opportunity of joining Potter’s Field Ministries at their orphanage in San Martin, El Salvador. The Lord has called us to serve orphans and we plan to do just that. We will be making ourselves available to Potter’s Field for whatever need they have including teaching kids about the Lord and doing light construction work on the orphanage grounds.

Cost: $1,250 per person

Registration is required by April 20

Brazil August 7-17

Pastor Alexandre Silva Vaz from Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro has invited Calvary Kendall to Rio. We will be teaming up together in order to further impact the community in Rio. We’re going to take over CC Rio’s church services and bless the church body with worship and teaching. We will also team up with Pastor Alexandre to conduct outreaches throughout the city.

Cost: $2,000 per person.

Registration is required by April 20

Come by CCK to register or email us at missions@calvarykendall.com for more information.

Update from Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

21 05 2008

Hello brothers and sisters in Christ!

We at Calvary Chapel Rio would love to share with you our praise reports and prayer requests as of late. May this newsletter encourage you and bring glory to our God who is worthy of all praise and all honor. Please feel free to respond to the newsletters and participate as you are so led by the Lord.

Involvement in the Ministry

The participation and interaction of the church body is most definitely a necessity in a healthy church. This is one of the prayers on Pastor Alexandre’s heart. He desires to see spirit-filled believers fulfilling their God-given purpose. Every brother and sister in Christ has a part to play and a gift to bless others with. Mindful of this, Pastor Alexandre is asking for your support in prayer. The simple fact is that Calvary Chapel Rio is in need of helpers for the following ministries: greeting at the door, intercessory prayers, and children’s ministry. So as we pray, patiently waiting for an obedient response to God’s calling for laborers, we shall not neglect to rejoice in the growth and development of the worship ministry. The work that the Lord is doing in and through the worship team is quite evident. It is such a refreshing sight to see one of the Lord’s ministries connecting and bonding as a unit, being used for God’s glory. Please continue to keep this ministry (including Cleber, Helder, Aline, Graciela, and Alessandra) in prayer. Praise God that when we gather to worship our Lord, the devil must flee!  Read the rest of this entry »

Update from Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro

29 02 2008

We would like to thank you, our faithful brethren, for your prayers and love for us in Rio de Janeiro. We see the fruit of your labor in prayer on our behalf and we are excited to share with you some of the ways God has been meeting our needs. Please do, in the same token, share with us. In fact, one of the subscribers to our newsletter expressed how they have been encouraged to see what God is accomplishing here. Our Lord truly does cause “all things to work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Thank you for your love and prayers!

1 John 4:18 “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” Read the rest of this entry »

Newsletter from Calvary Chapel Rio

25 01 2008

We at Calvary Chapel Rio pray that this newsletter finds you blessed and encourages you in Christ. As always, we invite you to take part in our ministry through your continued prayers and support. In addition to this request, we want to thank you for your faithfulness to do so. Glory to God in the highest that He hears our prayers and petitions and answers them according to His perfect knowledge and understanding of our circumstances. Romans 8 tells us of the aiding and interceding of the Holy Spirit when we pray. This scripture assures us that the Lord helps our weakness (v.26), searches our hearts (v.27), “And we know that God causes all things to work together for the good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

So join us as we claim this truth and place our faith in Christ. In fact we have seen the fruition of this very scripture and know it to be true! Read the rest of this entry »
