Prayer Requests

2 02 2009

One of our own, Joey Herbello, recently left to the Calvary Chapel Bible College in Lima, Peru. He will be there for their spring semester, aside from the bible college classes, he will also be participating in outreaches on a weekly basis, on a mid term missions trip to a neighboring country, and he will be staying for the Youth Missions trip to Peru from June 13-20. Pray for Joey’s studies, his safety, and for the Lord to use him on his outreaches.

November Update – Potters Field Ranch

Term 3 of 2007 Commissioning NightI AM the true vine… abide in Me and I with you. – John 15.1, 4

Again we see Jesus using the “I AM” statement that refers back to Exodus 3:14, where God told Moses to say that I AM had sent him. Here, Jesus is not only claiming that He is God in the flesh, but He is also revealing to us an important expectation and commandment, that He is the true vine in Whom we are to abide. The word abide simply means to dwell or stay with, and Jesus expects us to have unhindered fellowship and communion with Him.

Update from Potters Field Ranch

25 10 2007

“Thomas said unto Him, ‘Lord, we do not know where You are going; and how can we know the way?’ Jesus said unto him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life: No one comes to the Father except through Me.'” – John 14.5,6

As we have been commissioned to make disciples and preach the Gospel to the whole world, the answer Jesus gives to Thomas is the message we are to bring – there is a heaven and Jesus is the way.  It is all about Jesus!  He does not just show the way, He is the Way; He does not only speak the truth, He is Truth; He does not just give life, He is Life.

I AM the resurrection and the life, he who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live. – John 11.25

Jesus is continually resurrecting dead lives and breathing His life into them. He builds up wasted places, raises up shoddy foundations, repairs breeches in the wall and restores the streets. Jesus is the epitome of what a resurrected life looks like and exemplifies what it means to live life to the fullest – completely for God the Father. If He has resurrected us, then we owe our lives to Him and should live completely for Him. Our resurrected lives must be centered around Jesus, for we know that the outward man perishes, but the inward man is being renewed day by day. Let the life of Christ infiltrate all aspects of who you are and find that you are living the abundant life.  – Pastor David Mercer Director
