We are just a few days away from Easter. It is the day in which we celebrate the Greatest Single Fact in the History of the Universe and that is that Jesus Christ was Crucified, was Buried, and on the Third Day Rose from the Dead and He is Alive! What an amazing thing for us to Celebrate! And this year we will be having 2 Services at the beautiful CCk West Campus located at 15900 SW 56 Street. Service times will be at 9AM and 11AM. There will be a killer kids program as well. You will not want to miss this! And you won’t want your friends and family to miss it either. Easter is always a great opportunity to invite folks that normally won’t go to church. I pray that God would use you to step out with boldness to call and invite everyone that you can think of to join us for one of the services.  I am looking forward to what the Lord is going to do.

CCK Nursing Home Outreach

27 03 2009
The last Saturday of every month between 3-5 pm we visit Coral Reef Nursing Home, 9869 SW 152 Street, Miami, FL, and minister to the residents there. We meet in the Nursing Home lobby where we open up with prayer at 3 pm.  We then serve by performing music and/or ministering to the elderly in the Recreation Room or visiting the shut-ins in their rooms (those unable to leave their rooms for various reasons). We also give the residents manicures on special occasions (such as holidays) and distribute goodie bags of sugar-free candies/cookies/tracts on some holidays (Easter, Mother’s & Father’s Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas). Many of these residents are in need of a simple conversation, a listening ear, a hug, and especially God’s love. For more info or questions email Minerva at phoenixfaith@yahoo.com.

Our special kids require special attention from special adults. Calvary Chapel Kendall Kids Ministry has been led by the Lord to open a service for kids with special needs, the Lord has blessed this service abundantly and now we need more adults to help. Our special needs service is open every Sunday at the 12:30pm service in the Main Campus. If you’re patient, willing to learn, and feel called to help please email jp@calvarykendall.com or visit www.calvarykendall.com/kids and http://www.cckspecialneedsministry.blogspot.com/ for more info.

CCk West Update

4 03 2009

This weekend was amazing at CCk.  It was the beginning of a new season.  Quite honestly, I didn’t know what to expect this first week with the new service times and the new location.  I thought for sure, at least one service would be a ghost town. Let me just say, the Lord proved me wrong. The services were all very well attended!  We saw many make commitments to follow Christ at all the services.  It definitely exceeded my expectation.  The service at the CCk West Campus went amazing!  It was a tremendous blessing to have the Rev. John Ferguson, whom the school is named after be there with us and close the service in prayer.  He is 86 years old and has been serving the Lord for longer than I have been alive.  It was awesome to hear the words he shared.  All in all, it was a great day.  The Lord has definitely blessed CCk with a great team of volunteers.  I want to thank each one of them for their passion in serving the Lord.  I thank the Lord for what He has done, but I look with Great Anticipation at what He is yet to do!  See you on Wednesday!

The Mission Field is closer than you think!

23 02 2009

Many people think that missions is something you do in another country, but in reality missions is something that you live out on a daily basis. Every believer is called to serve in one way or another. If you’re a Christian then you’re a missionary to your family, your job, your school, your community, and then to the ends of the earth. Put feet to your faith and get involved in ministry here at CCK. With our new campus launch, CCK West, there are endless opportunities to get involved in the mission field right here in Kendall.

For more information stop by the info desk or email us at info@calvarykendall.com.

The Calvary Kendall Prison Ministry brings the Gospel to approximately 1,800 inmates at Everglades Correctional Institute. Members of the Prison Ministry teach parenting classes, transition classes, as well as preach God’s Word in various locations including the Chapel, Faith Based dorms, and Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) meetings. We need prayer for the Ministry’s effectiveness in both reaching the lost and discipling believers. We also need donations of men’s clothing, shoes, toiletries, and Bibles. Update from Gary & Marlene Cameron – Intervarsity Miami

5 09 2008

Hello friends!

Fall semester is an exciting time. All of the fellowships where we serve (FIU, UM and the UM Miller School of Medicine) have had  their Orientations and New Student Outreach events.  Their weekly meetings have begun and it looks like a promising year. We have met some very fine students. Some come with great excitement, some come from difficult contexts and need to experience God’s love and hospitality. In our prayer list below we ask you to pray for them and the faculty in these schools. Read the rest of this entry »
