MBS Students returned from a fruitful trip to El Salvador

Finishing Well at the Montana Bible School…

The students have been hard at work since their return from El Salvador, as they served locally in the Flathead Valley with several different organizations. One service event was the Whitefish Christian Academy’s annual “Building on the Rock Fundraiser” on November 1st, in which the students, interns and staff of Potter’s Field Ranch were an integral part.  The fundraiser successfully raised vital support for the Christian elementary school through a dinner and silent auction. The students also worked with Habitat For Humanity, Lighthouse Ministries and the Good Samaritan Nursing Home during their weekly servant times.

Granos del Cielo

10 11 2008
Dear Friends and Family,

It has been a long process, but we have almost completed remodeling the orphanage facilities.  A construction team from Calvary Chapel Olympia is here now to help us finish the last construction item: a new porch deck, and we will be ready for inspection with the proper government agencies shortly thereafter.  Lord willing, we will be opening or doors to Peru’s abandoned children by year’s end!

May we make a suggestion for your Christmas shopping?  We have gift wrapped 8.8 oz bags of our ground, “Granos del Cielo” premium coffee so that you can have it mailed to your friends and family by Christmas.  We’ll place it in the mail, and even include a greeting from you to make it personal!

We offered this orphanage fundraiser last year, and it was a blessing for all who participated.  Here is how it works, email us the below information. We will include your personal note and ship the delicious coffee so your present arrives under your loved one’s tree by Christmas.  Once your order is mailed, we will notify you so you can send a suggested $12 donation (per bag).  Your gift will be a double blessing–to those on your holiday list as well as for the children of Peru!

Thank you for praying for this important ministry.

Andy Falluer and his family moved from Florida several years ago to pastor Calvary Fellowship in Ottawa, Ontario.  Calvary Fellowship exists as a group of believers in Jesus Christ meeting in the Ottawa area. What began as a collection of home Bible Studies spread across the region, and sensing the leading of the Holy Spirit, they have now begun to meet corporately on Sunday mornings.  Pray for Andy and the Fellowship as they share the love of Jesus with the people of Ottawa, Canada.

Crowns that don’t Fade

alonso21

CCk Missions is mourning for a fellow Missionary. Alonso was a Peruvian native and was very involved in Ministry with Calvary Chapel Lima and the CC Bible College in Lima, Peru. He was as solid in the faith as anybody could be and he definitely showed it. He went all over Peru preaching the Gospel with other Calvary Chapel Missionaries. He was a gifted pianist, artist, and evangelist. His Peace could only come from the Prince of Peace. He was returning home to Lima from a short term missions trip in the mountains when his bus overturned. He was traveling with another Peruvian missionary who escaped with minor injuries. The Lord decided to take Alonso home and crown him before some of us. We don’t mourn like those who have no hope because we know that to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Right now Alonso is better off than we are. He was a dear friend and he will be dearly missed.

Koinonia Update

Hi Everyone,

I hope that you´re all doing well. The times we are living in are great times for growing faith. They´re great times for ministry as well. Here in Peru we´re trying to take advantage of the time and resources God has given us and I want to thank all of you that have been and are a part of it. We appreciate you so much. You´re help is making a difference in Peru.

Friday was a good day.  We had a children´s festival in the evening. Betty was able to minister quite a bit to a young mother. Her husband left her several months ago. Please pray for her. Her name is Claudia. While Betty was ministering to her I was ministering to a woman and her daughter. They´re both named Rosa. We met the daughter in August when we did an outreach in Villa Maria. Friday night her mother came with her. She had never heard the gospel before so it was nice to plant a seed in her heart.

Saturday was awesome because I was able to go to lunch with a beautiful woman. Her name is Betty Vander Kodde. In the afternoon several people from the church teamed us so that we could do a deep cleaning of the building. While we were cleaning a few of the men went out witnessing in the neighborhood. That´s a real blessing.

Yesterday was nice because I´m teaching the book of Romans and taking my time with it. Most of the people in the church here are fairly new believers and so they need to be grounded in the gospel. Romans is the perfect book for that. We´ve been in Romans for about 5 months now and I finally finished Romans 1:18.

Speaking of the church here, please pray for us to have wisdom as the place is getting too crowded on Sunday mornings and we´re thinking about adding another service. Last week there wasn´t an empty chair and this week even with making some seating adjustments, etc. I think there were two empty seats.

Yesterday afternoon was awesome. The Bible study was really great but the best part was hearing Jessica´s testimony after church. She´s a new believer and was crying quite a bit as she shared with me regarding the changes that Christ has made in her life. She has so many struggles but the Lord gives her so much strength. She has one boy that is autistic and another one that has some other issues. Even dealing with all this, she´s become quite an evangelist. She shares Christ everywhere she goes. If we just went to Santa Rosa each week for her, it would be worth it.

God bless you all and thanks for your prayers.

Making disciples in Peru,

Brian Vander Kodde

Flexing your Faith

3 11 2008

It’s so easy for us to sit here week after week and enjoy our new life with The Lord, but there comes a time to flex the faith that God has given us. Here are some spiritual workouts, bring in your filled shoe boxes for Operation Christmas Child, meet with us for missions prayer every Wed from 6:30pm to 7:00pm in the Video Sanctuary, volunteer for the NASCAR outreach, and start praying about our upcoming 2009 missions trips.
