Remember the Memorial Stones of God’s Past Faithfulness! – Joey Rozek

12 06 2008

To all of our dear friends and family,

Today is a very special day for us as we remember back and reflect on God’s amazing love and faithfulness in our lives! It was seven years ago today that we took our precious baby girl Madelyn home from the NICU of Hoag Hospital in Newport Beach, California after going through probably the most difficult trial of our lives…as I almost lost Tiffany due to a severe case of Toxemia and a condition called HELLPS sydrome as well as Madelyn, who was born 2 and 1/2 months early weighing only 1 pound, 15 ounces.    Read the rest of this entry »

CCk Mission Team to Costa Rica Returns Safely

12 06 2008

The Calvary Chapel Kendall Mission Team to Quepos, Costa Rica returned safely last night after five days of ministry with Kim Stilwell and family.  While they were there they led the worship service for a local church and fixed up a park in Kim’s neighborhood.  According to one team member, “God Rocked!”

Please be in prayer for another CCK Mission Team preparing for a trip to work with John Bonner’s ministry in Peru.  More details will follow in a future post.

CCk Missions Team – Update from Costa Rica (2)

9 06 2008

Sunday morning we found ourselves at a little Calvary Chapel house church in the middle of Quepos. Jose Jr. led us in worship in English and in Spanish. Dave shared with us for the English service and Amos for the Spanish service. The Lord definitely used them to speak to the people here. It’s great to see both Costa Rican’s and Americans at this little house church. Afterwards we headed over to Manuel Antonio beach to celebrate Kim’s eldest son’s birthday, his name is Jeremiah and he’s now 16. After the beach we headed back to Kim’s house to hear some English worship and a Bible study on CD. On Monday morning we met up with Kim, he showed us around Quepos a little more, he took us to the drug rehab center that he runs, then we went back to work on the park. Of course we’re not going to find all the hardware that we need to finish the park but that’s why the Lord told us to be flexible. We improvised with what we had and finally got it done and painted. Pray for us as we wrap up the trip, take a free day on Tuesday and head back home on Wednesday.

Prayer Request – FRM

9 06 2008

Received from Far Reaching Ministries:

Thank you in advance for praying for Monique, a missionary serving in Peru and asking for prayer for, June 9th, when she goes into surgery to remove a rather large fibroid. She will be in the hospital for two days and recuperating for another 15 days in Lima.

The Lord gave her this verse concerning the surgery: “The Lord is for me among those who help me” Psalm 118:7

She wishes to thank you for your prayers at this time. They are cherished.

CCk Missions Team – Update from Costa Rica

7 06 2008

Dear Family,

We took off Friday morning bound for beautiful Costa Rica. We fully expected a short but adventure packed trip and so far we’ve got it. After a short flight from Miami to San Jose we had a painstakingly long trip up and down a beautifully dangerous mountain road. We’re glad our little SUV comes with 4×4 because the wet mountain roads put our vehicle to the test. We didn’t arrive to our final destination until Friday evening so all we did was have dinner, relax, and hit the sack. This morning we woke up early, had “breakfast” that our hostel offers for free which really was no more than toast, jelly, butter, bananas, and coffee. Missionary Kim “EL Pollo Loco” Stillwell came to our hostel to pick us up. He took us on a short walking tour of the town and we got to work. A couple of us went to buy the materials needed and once we had everything in hand we went crazy on a little park in Kim’s nieghborhood. After a long day and a little lunch of mortadella and cheese sandwiches we came back to our hostel to relax, regroup, and get ready to take over the church on Sunday morning. Pray for us as we teach the services on Sunday, lead worship on Sunday, and finish up the park on Monday.

God bless,

Pedro Carrion

Uplift and Update from the Rozeks – United Kingdom

7 06 2008

Greetings from Cambridge to all our loved ones!

UPLIFT…

Jesus is enough! Do you believe it…even today? Every day tests the validity of those words as we come against a spiritual resistance in a barren land where often no water can be found. We are constantly learning that no matter where we go or what we go through in this life, we must remain a people who bless the Lord at all times and have His praise be continually in our mouths (Ps. 34:1). We must resolve to know Jesus more, to trust Him no matter what we presently see and to feed on His faithfulness while we take in Jesus as our daily portion and our heavenly supply. For we live by “every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.” He alone is the Author of Life, the Bread of Life and the Life that now lives in us. Jesus alone gratifies the body, satisfies the soul and ratifies the spirit. It is essential that we as the salt of the world do not lose our flavor! Christ is not only worthy of our praise…but the world must be able to see what it looks like when we as believers are tasting His goodness as the Living Water quenches our thirst. We must always be aware of the power that is presently and actively working when we share the Gospel of Christ to those who live the daily grind and yet fall behind without Him. “.. be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” ~ Ephesians 6:10-11

Sudan:

Please pray for peace and stability in Sudan.

Pray for new recruits of pastors and chaplains to be trained in Nimule, beginning June 1st.

Please continue to keep the upcoming Love Covers outreach in prayer. For God’s perfect will to be accomplished through and in His people.

Please continue to pray for Hellen, Gifti and the senior staff in Sudan. For unity and enough quiet time for them to go to their Source for wisdom, strength and joy.

Pray for James as he is driving all our vehicles back to their locations after repairs. He had a horrible run in with the police because the updated registration sticker was not fixed on the window. We had already paid but the police were harsh and cruel. Pray God’s protection on him as he drives and serves all the projects.

Please continue to pray for the senior staff retreat June 20th-23rd. Pray God will use Jim to edify and train the leaders. Read the rest of this entry »
