Update from Beit Al Liqa’ – Middle East

29 02 2008

Dear friends,

Greetings from a surprisingly freezing Beit Jala! At the beginning of this new year, winter struck with all its might. Late January we had snow for two days, and even this coming weekend we’re expecting a snow wave for our area. Here, people not only long for the glorious white because of its rare appearance, but also because it brings public life to a standstill: no school for kids, no work for adults – and we must admit that even here at Beit Al Liqa’ such unexpected free time slots are welcomed as a precious gift! Update from Calvary Chapel Rio de Janeiro

29 02 2008

We would like to thank you, our faithful brethren, for your prayers and love for us in Rio de Janeiro. We see the fruit of your labor in prayer on our behalf and we are excited to share with you some of the ways God has been meeting our needs. Please do, in the same token, share with us. In fact, one of the subscribers to our newsletter expressed how they have been encouraged to see what God is accomplishing here. Our Lord truly does cause “all things to work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28) Thank you for your love and prayers!

1 John 4:18 “My little children, let us not love in word or in tongue, but in deed and in truth.” Read the rest of this entry »

Koinonia Peru Update – Brian Vander-Kodde

27 02 2008

The Children Are Ministering

Saturday was a special day for us here at Koinonia Surco. After a lot of rehearsels and prayer the children between 8-12 years old sponsored a special ministry for the smaller children of the church. We really believe that children that love the Lord are more than capable of being used by God in great ways. If you would like to see some pictures of the ministry, which included clowns and a drama about the prodigal son, check out our blog at www.iglesiacristianakoinonia.blogspot.com

You Prayed for the Men

Thanks to everyone that is praying for the men that God is calling to leadership in the church here. We´ve been meeting together on Monday nights for two weeks and we´ve had a blessed time. The first two weeks we´ve been talking about the importance of Godly character in the life of the leader.

Women in Santa Rosa need Prayer

Keep praying for the women in Santa Rosa. José (the Bible teacher there) has been exhorting some of the ladies. Now we just have to see what their response will be.

Short Term Team Arriving Sunday

Pray for a group of 15 people that will be arriving from Florida on Sunday night. They´ll be doing construction in Santa Rosa and a few other things as well. They´re from Calvary Chapel Palm Harbor and Calvary Chapel Pasco.

Ica Update

The ministry in Ica is changing a bit. After much prayer we´ve decided to put more emphasis on discipling the small group of Christians that come the the Bible study. We pray that they will do the outreach in their own area in the future rather than waiting on us to do it. Pray for the Christians in Ica.

God bless you all.

Potter’s Field Ministries – February Update

20 02 2008

Pastor Michael and Pam giving an invitation of salvation and a new life with Christ at a church Florida this past weekend.

Behold, I will do a new thing, now it shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness. Isaiah 43.19

When a word is repeated it usually means, “take notice”. In the book of Isaiah, the word “behold” is used 94 times! God uses “behold” to get our attention just as Jesus used “behold” before He shared important eternal truths. Here in Isaiah, God says He is doing a “new thing”, so we not only anticipate something that is fresh, exciting and original, but also be assured that it will come to pass, and that nothing will hinder it. The works of God are so marvelous, that Isaiah likens them to when God made a way of escape for His people through the Red Sea (Is 43:16-17; cf. Ex. 14). Read the rest of this entry »
