MERRY CHRISTMAS!
“Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel.” Isaiah 7:14
“And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. ” Luke 1:31
“And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 7:14
What a joy it is to celebrate Christmas! Every year, we have not only a special day, but a special season in which the incarnation of Christ is focused on and celebrated. Gifts are exchanged in remembrance of God’s gift to us, His Son Jesus.
Immanuel means, “God with us,” and His name Jesus means, “God saves.” How delightful it is to know that it is God who is with us and that He will never leave or forsake us. It is difficult to comprehend that the only One who could take our place and forgive our sins, did so willingly because of His love for us.
This Christmas season, may we not be wrapped up with presents under the Christmas tree, but captivated by the presence of Jesus who gave His life for us on THE Christmas tree. Let’s worship Him as the Ultimate Christmas present we have every received… Merry Christmas!
EL SALVADOR
Construction continues to move forward at the Potter’s Field Ranch Orphanage in San Martin, El Salvador. The completion of the outdoor kitchen will be finished this month! The new cocina will be used by mission teams that stay and serve on the property. In fact, several mission teams are scheduled to be in country from the end of December to the middle of January. The teams are made up of people from Calvary Chapel Philadelphia and Calvary Chapel Blue Island, in Illinois. As painting and landscaping on the property continues, they will also be the first to lodge in the newly constructed missionary bungalow. In addition to these groups, several pastors from all over the country will be traveling with Pastor Michael Rozell of Potter’s Field Ministries through El Salvador for several days. Please pray for the protection of the team members as they travel and work on the orphanage, as well as for the 11 boys on the property, that they would continue to grow in the love of Christ this upcoming year!
POTTER’S FIELD MINISTRIES
After being on tour for two months, Pastor Michael and Pam Rozell are home for the holidays. Potter’s Field Ministries saw the completion of another blessed time of being and ministering in California. The opportunities the Lord presented and the response from individuals encouraged has been humbling. Pam had the privilege once again to sing “O Holy Night” with Pastor Chuck Smith of Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa for their annual Ladies’ Christmas Coffee, she has done this eight times over the last ten years. This event is put on by Kay Smith’s women’s Bible study called Joyful Life and annually hosts 3,000 ladies at this gathering to kick off their Christmas season. It’s one of the highlights for Pam each year. A recording of Pastor Chuck and Pam’s duet can be found on her Light of a Million Mornings album.
The team will not be back on the road again until February, but please continue to keep them in prayer. Both Pastor Michael and Pam will be traveling to El Salvador at the beginning of the year to visit the boys at the Potter’s Field Ranch Orphanage as well as dedicate the new school building that is on the property. If you have any questions about the ministry, Pastor Michael and Pam’s schedule, or prayer requests, please let us know!
Thank you for your interest in this ministry and your many prayers. We hope that you have a wonderful Christmas and a happy New Year!
MEET OMAR!
Meet Omar, one of our precious boys at Potter’s Field Ranch Orphanage. He is 10 years old and has spent his entire life in El Salvador. Like most of the boys at the Orphanage, he has been in the system set up by the government for orphans since he was very young. He arrived at San Martin in September 2006 and by God’s grace, now is in a place that he can call home. His countenance has completely changed from when he first arrived. Omar is a loving, sweet boy and has adjusted well to his new life. He excels in school and his favorite subject just happens to be English. Like most Salvadorian boys, Omar loves watching and playing soccer. With good health, he continues to persevere in all that he does, physically, mentally, and spiritually. One of his favorite verses is Psalm 66:4 – All the earth shall worship You and sing praises to You; They shall sing praises to Your name. Selah (NKJV).
