To our beloved family in the Lord who are with us in prayer and support!
We hope each one of you enjoyed a great day of Thanksgiving with those who were around your table. We want to express to each of you how truly thankful we are for every prayer you have offered and every word of encouragement you have have given since we answered God’s call to come to England some 9 months ago. It was almost surreal to celebrate Thanksgiving in the country where the first pilgrims sailed from. We were really blessed to share this time with Tiffany’s brother Chad and his family who flew out to visit us. I feel like our capacity to enjoy the Lord and consider all that God has done in and through our lives is growing deeper in our hearts..and yet we carry a certain absence of all of our loved ones who we miss dearly. Ever since Jesus came to dwell in our very lives, it is a privilege to genuinely live thanksgiving on a daily basis. It is overwhelming to have His presence and peace ruling in our hearts. As the Psalmist said, “What shall I render to the LORD For all His benefits toward me?” (Psalm 116:12)
To truly behold the Lord is to stumble and then soar all in one swoop!
As we humble ourselves before His presence, we soon rise with renewed power in the presence of others. The work that God is doing in us cannot be compared to anything that can be obtained this side of heaven.
Last Sunday, I had the opportunity to sit down with 30 plus students from one of the colleges of Cambridge University and narrate the entire Gospel and encourage them toward Christ over scones and sushi (of which I personally left out the sushi). The discussions and questions that followed were very honest and sincere and I know that the Lord used it to touch many hearts. For many of these students, they have never even given God a single consideration and therefore have never really taken the time to examine the claims of Jesus or consider all His worth. It is a great privilege to plant some of the very first seeds in their vacant hearts.
This Sunday, we will be baptizing Mark Saggers who has given his life entirely to Christ since our arrival out here in Cambridge. It has been amazing to see the changes in his life and to hear him praying and growing in the Word just blesses our hearts. We are sad to see them go in the turn of the year to London for some more training in the Royal Air force before their relocation to Spain. We are having everyone from our Friday night fellowship after the baptism for food, fellowship and to celebrate the Lord’s table.
Later on in the evening, I will be teaching the Word at a Sunday evening service at a church just outside of Cambridge. Please pray for open hearts and lasting fruit. During this upcoming week, I am looking forward to getting together with different guys to build them up and disciple them in the faith. Pray for God’s leading and blessing on those opportunities.
Pray for the final weeks of Joey’s Bible college class and Tiffany’s continued home schooling with Madelyn. Maddie is really growing in every area. Josiah is beginning to read and write better and Jordan is now crawling.
Please continue to pray for our OBEDIENCE and INFLUENCE in this region of the world. We believe we are in step with our Savior at this time…but our heads are tilt at an angle as we look ahead and ponder the path of righteousness that He is leading us on…resting in and wrestling with Him who is the fountain of life…knowing that “In [His] light we see light”
(Psalm 36:9).
With all our love and His blessings to you all!
Joey, Tiffany, Madelyn, Josiah and Jordan
