Hello loved ones near and far,
UPLIFT…
I pray that your spirit is rejoicing in the grace and glory of our Great God and Savior this morning! Or as David once put it…”Great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; And His greatness is unsearchable” (Psalm 145:3). It is always difficult to express all of the great things the Lord is doing in and through our lives here in England, but we are continuing to enjoy HIM in it all! It is interesting that when God finished His six days of creation, “He commanded and they were created” and then He “saw everything that He had made, and indeed it was very good.” Has anything changed with the Lord? Whenever God is behind the birth, the conception, the building or the construction of something…it is always good! So I pray that we are all learning to keep our hands off and eyes on the only One who should have His hands on the work at hand. For “unless the Lord builds the house they labor in vain who build it.” Furthermore, the Lord has shown His perfect record of good works. He makes no mistakes… make no mistake about it! But when we submit to Him, He does even greater things with the good things He already made. The unbelieving world saw the great things the LORD DID for His people and said, “The LORD has done great things for them.” And we can say, “The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.” (Psalm 126:2-3) He will show you great and mighty things which we do not know, as long as we call upon Him (Jer. 33:3).

When our children were small, all it took was a stern look to stop them from hitting a playmate in the sandpit with a sand shovel. They knew: Mummy can see me. And they also knew that hitting others was just not allowed. With most families we’ve met through our ministry over here, however, it’s different. There are few or hardly any rules as far as child-rearing is concerned. Instead of setting children limits and teaching them, they leave them to do what they want. If a child does something silly, parents frequently look the other way, as they find it too much of a strain to intervene or because they consider it to be far too much for them to handle. One cannot blame them, really. No-one prepared them for their parental tasks, and they themselves seem to have no clear standards for their lives either. Although religion plays a major role for most of them, God doesn’t have anything to do with their daily lives. They simply do not know Him.
Greetings to all of our loved ones, It has been said that, “The Lord is more interested in the heart of His servant than the work of his service”…and that “He loves the minister more than the ministry.” Well…the Lord is causing us to diligently seek Him, to cease from our own striving and to put aside our own agenda. With no one around to support us at this time, we are learning how to be more dependent on God and less sufficient of ourselves.
In day 3 and 4 this verse was put into action. We were blessed with the opportunity to visit families. While sharing stories with these families a bond of love was formed between us as we all got acquainted with one another. One of the many things that we will take with us is the great example of what hospitality looks like. For the most part, because of the “busyness” we easily get caught up in we become accustomed to calling each other to arrange a visit yet those we have come in contact with have welcomed us without the necessity of a phone call. The fact that we were strangers did not hold them back from offering us the little that they had in an effort to make us feel at home. We walked out of each home knowing that seeds were planted and with our bellies full
