Safe Arrival: The Work Begins

27 02 2007

Our team arrived safely at their destination in Asia. Here is a copy of the email that Josh sent:

Greetings to our CCK Family from N. We have finally adjusted from our long trip of 39 hours from CCK to our beds here. In the process we saw the first glimpse of what we believe to be great things in store for us.

While at the airport in B on our way to N, Daniel had the opportunity to share with a middle age man who was going to the same place as us to meet his bride to be that he had arranged on the Internet!

While in B we found out that our reservations to N had been cancelled. After much persuasion, 6 of the 7 seats were re-confirmed and the 7th was put on standby with the possibility of having to stay behind over night. Blair was selected and he accepted with a good heart for the betterment of the team. As it turned out, he got on anyway and to Him we give thanks. Blair also met a young local lady who is learning English and she had dinner with us last night, Hopefully we can attend her English class and see where He’s leading us. Exciting things!

Sorry this is so short but I will add little by little with each up date.

God bless you all,

Josh and the CCK Cultural Group

Pray for the Bible Society in Gaza

10 02 2007

We like to share with people the difficult situation we were passing few days ago, we could not open the outer doors of the bible society for a couple of days, moving from one place to another was so scary and dangerous, so we canceled some of our programs. One of our workers was in a visit for the relief program and while he was driving, shooting started and some people opened the cabin of the car and put a man there and told him to take him to the hospital directly !!( the car was shown on alarabia TV) . Thank God for his safety. also a bullet went into our staff’s home, where he and his daughter where just sitting under the window, when there was no electricity at night, it broke the window, burned the curtain, went to chair, table and then to cupboard where it explode between the wall and the cupboard.. Thank God for their safety. they left their home now to his parents’ home. Also the bus driver for one of the church’s programs for children was killed by 2 bullets inside his chest and heart, while he was sitting in front of his home, he is 24 years old, got married 4 months ago !!
The situation yesterday and today is better, we still hear shooting but not in a continuous way as before ! please keep us in your prayers.

So as you can see the situation in Gaza has been very serious and the team there is in need of our continuous prayer support. They are still very active despite all the problems. Pray for protection and wisdom and that in this very dark time in Gaza that the LIGHT of Christ will shine BRIGHTLY!
Blessings
Andrew for the CP team.
